[F4M] Love Lives [Poetry][Rom][Short]

In a gilded cage, she lives

A deceitful smile upon her lips 

In carnal pleasures, she’s seen

Locked away behind the screen

She drinks and forgets

Gives herself away and regrets

Hardships of the heart burden her soul

For all the power, she’s said to hold

Yet her dreams, they do not unfold

She works and eats, she sleeps and breaths

Warm in her bed, she walks waking dreams

Yet hers is the glacial path

A tomb of desire

A hearth she feeds unto the fire

For she does not see he,

The man for whom she was meant to be

Freedoms of the flesh she’s told to desire

Yet true love she must acquire

Lest she is lost, forever cast unto the cold

Her soul a wreck, upon the haunted shores

A siren of drudgery, for pain and gluttony 

For true happiness to find, behold which glistens in the eyes

A saccharine truth so soft and sweet

For love, her heart, once again beats

She fills the silence with words unspoken

Her soul, shackled to his, a bond unbroken

The flesh unites, as does the soul

In the joining of the two, the truth unfolds

As one they have become, to treasure and hold

A profundity that existence manifold 

All that remains of doubt, all they are without

All that they despise, all the hatred and the lies

In truth, they come undone, before their very eyes

For a destiny together held, with many hardships must be dealt

For one truth, for one desire, for one heart that burns with fire

Suffering that life may be, it becomes worthwhile, for he and she
