Narrator: (to the audience) Welcome to Canterville Chase, an old English country house. For centuries, this house has been haunted by the ghost of Mrsimon. She has been cursed to roam these halls, unable to find peace until her bloodstain, located in the library, is removed. But the Otis family, an American family, has just moved in and they do not believe in ghosts. They mock her and make a laughingstock of her curse.

(Mr. Otis enters with Clark and James)

Mr. Otis: (to Butler) I heard strange noises coming from the library.

Butler: (nodding) Yes, sir. That would be Mrsimon, the ghost of Canterville Chase.

Mr. Otis: (laughing) A ghost? Don't be ridiculous. There's no such thing as ghosts.

Clark: (excitedly) I want to see the ghost!

James: (nervously) I don't know if I want to see the ghost.

Mrsimon: (appears behind Mr. Otis, making a ghostly noise) I assure you, I am quite real.

Mr. Otis: (jumping) Ah! (He turns around and sees Mrsimon) Ha! That was good.

Mrsimon: (jokingly) You think that was good? Wait till you see my poltergeist abilities!

(Mrsimon starts to move objects around the room, making Mr. Otis and the twins laugh)

Mrs. Otis: (entering) Oh, there you are. We've been looking for you.

Mrsimon: (giggling) I was just showing off my poltergeist abilities to your husband and the twins.

Mrs. Otis: (laughing) Well, it seems like you're not so scary after all.

Mrsimon: (smiling) I guess not. But I'm still cursed to roam these halls until my bloodstain is removed.

Mrs. Otis: (to Mrsimon) Come now, let us help you remove the bloodstain from the library

Mrs. Otis: (to Mrsimon) Come now, let us help you remove the bloodstain from the library. Then you can finally find peace.

Mrsimon: (tears up) Thank you, kind lady. I have been waiting for someone to show me compassion.

(They all go to the library)

(Clark and James watch as Mr. and Mrs. Otis and Butler try to remove the bloodstain)

Clark: (to James) This is so funny! I can't believe we're helping a ghost!

James: (laughing) I never thought ghosts could be this funny!

(After some effort, the bloodstain is finally removed)

Mrsimon: (tears up) Thank you, kind friends. I am finally free from my curse.

Mrs. Otis: (smiling) It was our pleasure. We're just glad that we could help.

Clark: (excitedly) That was so funny! Can we see the ghost again?

Mrsimon: (smiling) I'm afraid not, young Clark. Now that my curse is lifted, I can finally move on to the afterlife.

(Mrsimon disappears)

Virginia Otis: (to the audience) And from that day on, Canterville Chase was no longer haunted by the ghost of Mrsimon. We lived happily in the house and made many fond memories with Clark and James.
