Kayla is drawn in, flying down to the camp and towards a female weasel holding a spear, the sounds of the camp seem frantic but hushed as she draws closer. Then into soldier seeing the world through her eyes, and the sounds change, they remain strange but somehow Kayla can understand them. Besides her Dolly floats towards a second female weasel, of somewhat smaller size and seemingly lower rank helping the first prepare her weapons. "...and you are certain that this will work?" "there are so few of us left, this may be our last chance" The badger rubs his chin for a while then continues with a bit of hesitation "Well I suppose... things are never entirely certain, there is always a chance for failure" "But given the resources available to me since my *he sighs deeply* departure as grand magister... this will have to suffice" "As far as spirits of her power go, the Lady is quite benevolent, despite her...eccentricities" A few weasels giggle at this while a male weasel suddenly looks incredibly uncomfortable, but are shut up by a highly annoyed looking otter, staring at them with daggers in his eyes before taking the word "A thousand of my brothers and sisters dead in just one week, from a single beast, this cannot last" "And not just our soldier but children" He slams his hands on the table in anger then sits back down as all the previously giggling weasels are now silent. Then the weasel behind who's eyes Kayla resides steps forth and looks over all those gathered. "He is right, we cannot let this continue, general Ragtooth has gone beyond insane, and I can still barely believe the Emperor would condone this... it's not supressing a rebellion, it is murder" She walks over to the otter placing her paw on his shoulder. "My soldiers are ready, we will end this or die trying, and I wish we could fight side by side here" *The scene shifts to later that night* The weasel commander stands in her tent, together with her squire, going over the plan time after time She moves figures on the layout of the temple and reads the plans over and over until she feels paws on her shoulders starting to massage her "Don't worry commander, how many missions have we been on together now? How many times have you saved us... saved me" Her massages move up and down the weasel commander's back ruffling her fur as the squire's paws continue their expert movements. Her head now moves closer to her superior's neck, licking the soft fur, then the taller weasel spins around suddenly looking her in her eyes and pushing her to the bed *The scene shifts to the morning after* Two dozen weasels, all dressed in identical gear are gathered in the bushes, making a last role call, the commander stepping forth once more. "Remember, we are here to relieve the guards, we have an official document so act like imperial soldiers until we are in, if not they can simply activate the defenses and keep us out entirely, or worse, wake up the beast" They march out to the temple, the commander's heart racing in her chest, but she needs to stay calm for her troops, she looks out at her squire, for her... Walking up the stairs of the temple she presents her written orders to the guard, who goes over it for a few agonizing seconds...and then the stone melts away and they are allowed entry. Going deeper and deeper into the the temple, passing by the Toad breeding grounds and arriving in the long hallway. More guards this time, but once more she presents her orders to the commander who looks them over and bids them to pass Then a sudden shout "WAIT I KNOW HER SHE'S THE TRAITOR GENERAL I WAS AT THE BATTLE FOR THE..." A quick thrust with a spear from her squire ends the weasel's life, the rebels and the imperial troops clash, and a brutal fight breaks out, but her men hold the the upper hand driving back the imperial troops, pushing through An alarm rings through the complex and a sudden hiss is heard, green smoke fills up the hallway, and as it touches the closest imperial solder he freezes on the spot turning to stone near instantly The imperials panic and scatter desperately trying to avoid the smoke, the commander fumbles with her bag and yells for her soldiers to stay close as the smoke approaches. One of the rebels turns to run, barely making it halfway to the upstairs before getting caught. Then the commander finally grabs what she was looking for: a suspiciously human looking fertility statue, which radiates a white light. The smoke approaches the light but cannot get past it, the Magister's plan had worked and the Lady's protection would keep them safe. The group moves to the great door at the bottom as the smoke dissipates and the commander pulls out a round bronze seal depicting a rooster head, finding an opening reaching out to place it... An arrow flies through the air, launched from a door to the site, penetrating the commanders leg who drop to the floor. Her squire yells in rage and with blinding speed she is upon the assailant beating his head against the floor until he stops moving. The commander looks down, the arrow wound isn't to bad... then she notices the bright green liquid coating it, and the skin around the wound slowly turning gray. 'The beast's venom, concentrated, not even the Lady's blessing would stop it Her troops pick her up placing her comfortably in a bed in the break room, her squire looking at the now entirely grey leg with tears in her eyes "...you must go on...without me" "I trust each and any of you to complete the mission, kill the beast, or if you cannot, seal it" She hands her squire the statue "There's nothing more to be done for my love... please be strong, for them..." The troops make no effort to leave their commander by herself, and using her last strength she sits up "GO THIS IS AN ORDER MY LAST ORDER TO YOU, WE DO NOT HAVE THE TIME" Her intensity seems to be enough for most of them and one by one the rebels leave the room until only her squire remains She walks over and the two share a last loving kiss, before even she, bound by duty leaves, closing the door behind her The commander takes out a scroll, the same scroll Kayla and Dolly touched, presses her hand against it, if they failed... if they died here, at least they would be remembered Then the dream ends
