Though unable to speak, Stahl communicates his intent through his actions and body language just fine. [Backstory]
Born orphaned and mute, Stahl was deprived of attention and unable to interact with his peers or express himself verbally. Turning instead to himself, he began ascetic training at a young age, hoping that recognition for his achievements would entitle him to the relationships he lacked in his youth. Because of the intense energies present in his body as a result of brutal training, Stahl's other pursuits had some interesting consequences. His striving to become a human paragon altered his very physiology, his intense desire to communicate developed into an empathic touch, and his constant yearning for contact caused him to attract the attention of more than just his fellow humans. To dissuade the (partly) unwanted contact, Stahl keeps decent by hiding himself behind a heavy layer of plate armor, though its exact appearance changes with his emotions.
