Whitehat IT Tools Inexepertly compiled by Anon >My computer is slow, help! >I forgot my password, help! >I accidentally deleted a file, help! This is a reference list of tools, for beginners who are looking to build a toolkit to perform basic maintenance and repair services on a local computer. All the software listed here is free. Some of it is FOSS. Some of it can be upgraded to a Pro version, but it's pointless to do so. Some are free for "personal use" only. To begin, format a flashdrive as FAT32. All of these tools are very light, but a 16GB flashdrive would be the safest bet. To use bootable utilities, you'll probably need to make sure that Legacy Mode is enabled in the BIOS. Don't plug your flashdrive into a USB 3.0 port, or it probably won't work. Have fun, scriptkiddies. >YUMI (Your Universal Multiboot Installer) >https://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/ A boot menu that allows you to select which bootable utility you want to launch. Install this to your flashdrive first. Be aware that if you uninstall a bootable, sometimes it'll stick around on the YUMI boot menu. >DBAN (Derik's Boot and Nuke) >https://dban.org/ A bootable utility that zeros a harddrive. Useful if you're reselling a computer. Make sure you have the appropriate product keys first. Installed via YUMI. >Lazesoft >https://www.lazesoft.com/lazesoft-recovery-suite-free.html A bootable utility that can blank any local Windows account password, including Administrator. You have to generate a different ISO for each version of Windows, and determine if a system is 32bit or 64bit. In most cases, all you'll need is Windows 10 64bit. On the system I tested, I had to restart the computer from the login screen to finish blanking the password. On rebooting, the password was successfully blanked. Installed via YUMI (Unlisted ISO, Boot with GRUB). With those installed, I'd recommend creating two folders in the root directory of your flashdrive, one for utilities, and one for storing backups. Via YUMI you can also throw Tails (https://tails.boum.org/index.en.html) on your flashdrive if desired, or whatever other bootable software you like (Kali, Trinity, and so on). >Glary Utilities >https://www.glarysoft.com/glary-utilities/ An excellent suite of tools for system repair/maintenance. These include repairing registries, clearing cache/temporary files, recovering deleted files, and managing startup programs - among many others. >PortableApps >https://portableapps.com/download What it says on the tin. A launching platform for portable applications. Ensure that you install it to your flashdrive, and not your system. These are the apps I'd recommend. Make sure you run each of them on your local system first, to update scanning definitions/dictionaries. >https://portableapps.com/apps/security >ClamWin >Emsisoft Emergency Kit >HijackThis >Kaspersky TDSSKiller >Spybot - Search & Destroy >https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities >IObit Unlocker >Wise Data Recovery >Process Hacker >HWiNFO (Hardware Info) >Defender Injector >https://www.sordum.org/10636/defender-injector-v1-1/ Allows you to very easily view, add, and remove exceptions from Windows Defender. >NirLauncher >http://launcher.nirsoft.net/ >http://launcher.nirsoft.net/downloads/index.html >ZIP Password: nirsoft9876$ !!!If you're going to run this, ensure you have your flashdrive root directory excepted in Windows Defender first. If you don't, Windows Defender will throw a shitfit!!! NirLauncher is a collection of all NirSoft tools. They are disgustingly powerful, and there's too many to list. Here's a few that I use often, mostly for password recovery. >WifiPassView Displays the passwords for every wifi the computer has connected with. >BrowserPassView Attempts to collect usernames/passwords that have been input into a browser. >ProduKey Displays product keys saved to the system. If you can do better than this list, or have something to add, make another paste.
