I do not agree with the statement. When a person moves away to study they earn more money through foreign employment in most cases, such as 30% more pay if you move to a busy city and even upto twice as much if you shift to the correct company, this would allow you to send money to your family allowing them to have more resources making the quality of their life better. Some may argue that money is not important, but in reality we often see how poverty affects a person’s life, preventing even education in worst case scenarios. Next, we need to realise that sometimes other countries have better educational facilities for specific fields, not every country has the same popularity for certain study fields. For example if someone wants to be a fashion designer they would have an easier time finding a job if they had the fact that they might have studied in Paris: the fashion capital of the world, on their resume. If someone has decided to study abroad to shift to a different country they have obviously given it a lot of thought thought and have a good reason to do so, maybe they feel like their quality of life is not very good in their current location and so they need to move somewhere else or they feel that they need to move somewhere else to start a family, they wouldn’t be a few select people either, it is estimated that approximately 4.3 million people shifted abroad to study and this number is thought to rise to eight million people by 2025. Maybe we shouldn’t blame the people who leave to make a better life for themselves but rather change the area ourselves so that people don’t feel that they have to leave. If people leave someplace it may be because the population of that place is too much and so the job fields are saturated so the people leaving may in turn also benefit others as there would be less competition for jobs while they too can be happy that they found a good place of employment. Lastly, people who go abroad to study may find an opportunity to grow as a person due to the different people, cultures and situations that they face. In fact, according to a famous economist known as Professor Maine, people who study abroad have more of an interest in other cultures than those who don’t. Additionally, it is not compulsory that the people who study abroad move there permanently so there is no real great loss to the country if the student returns to their country with a larger set of skills. To conclude, I would like to say that the reason I don’t support the statement is because it is baseless to say the community suffers just from a student studying abroad since many of them do comeback to their home country to work and the benefits of a student studying abroad are great enough to allow and even support students to study abroad.
