It's been a very long time since I built the community from scratch, having only 2-3 members. My purpose in making this community was creating content! For myself and for other WoW players. We helped a lot of players in earning gold, catching up on gear and progression. My way (that many hated, but many also loved) was to create opportunities for those who were not in the circle of "elites" and I feel that I succeeded. I always tried to support all the players who wanted to boost and give them opportunities. Instead of making huge gold for a few, I decided to make gold for many. I tried to support not only NA players, but also Latin American and Asian players. Instead of helping only the top guilds, we gave every guild a shot, letting them sell with fewer spots. Seeing them grow in rankings was one of the best feelings that I had in WoW during this adventure. I've created a system where anyone could be staff and get busy with new WoW-related content.I wanted to give everyone a shot. I might have made this community "to earn gold" at first, but then the community became so important that I stopped making gold from it and I started to invest back into the community, making events, supporting streamers, and helping dedicated growing guilds. I'm proud of what WE all built together, and I'm proud of you all that kept WoW, the game that we all love, alive and fun. In the last days of 9.0 when the game was dry of content, we helped the game by having over 700 M+, Torghast, and Leveling runs and 6+ raid runs per day. We protected 800+ individuals per day from in-game scammers by providing a guaranteed run. Each day, we paid 1500+ individual WoW players and made them content. We supported 30+ individual streamers and helped them grow. We made a lot of wow-related events and helped the game to have some new temporary content. My biggest goal indeed was to convince Blizzard that our community is here to create content and help the game stay alive. We wanted to be supported. Some people might hate boosting by the nature, but the truth is that boosting is a part of any MMORPG. It is a part of the role play. If it wasn't in your game, you should be worried as it just shows that your in-game currency is not that important and your in-game economy is not alive! Boosting communities like us are out there to create "brands" and bring "protection" to those who want to buy boosts. Some argue that it makes the game "pay-to-win", which I would say "what is the meaning of winning for you? Is it having an achievement earlier than your friend? Is it just having a number in your IO/Rating? Or is it playing with friends, and achieving something that you worked for?". Winning is the feeling of progression, not an achievement without an effort. Sadly, due to someone else's transgressions, our community has not been supported. They see us as supporters of gold-selling, while we have no way of knowing anything about the transactions of a random buyer, booster, or advertiser. This whole thing is a result of the Gallywix incident 2 years ago, which made Blizzard think "it just isn't worth it". Even when we reached out to WoW related big fan communities like Wowhead they would say "we want to protect ourselves from the potential bad press". All and all, I want to do 2 things about this whole situation. 1) I am forming a council to take management actions and decisions. I will be part of the council, share my experience and give my opinions. While I'm happy with my efforts to fight the elitist point of view in boosting and give everyone a chance, I think I failed to make boosting supported or improve the image of boosting in the eyes of the company that created my beloved game. 2) I urge all who want boosting to be supported to fill out this form. Until now only those who "hated boosting" talked in forums, Twitter, etc. I think it is time for those who like boosting to speak up. It is not about Huokan, it is not about me, it is about the entirety of boosting! I will post the result of this form into forums, Reddit, and Twitter. Form Link: https://forms.gle/nUxx46fKxMstgBfK7 TLDR: We believe we help the game to stay alive, and we believe we can create good content. We feel that as a community with over 35 thousand WoW players, we should all take steps to lessen the negativity against boosting communities. We believe Blizzard collaborating with us will bring stability to the community and would benefit the game. If you want boosting to get supported, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/nUxx46fKxMstgBfK7. Thank you for all continuing to support Boosting and Huokan! Iman
