Hello everyone! I'm here to share a recent experience that our team has experienced in this league. I'm not the leader of MA, nor am I writing as a representative of MA - I'm just here to share some lessons that my team has learnt from this. I hope that you can take some time to read through this so you can learn our lessons (esp for team leaders out there) without going through what we did, and won't be stuck in the same situation as us in the future. Here is the chain of events, briefly 1. Enemy team asked if they can use a div 1 merc, we replied no, due to difference in skill level 2. Enemy team started to say that they reject our 2 mercs, attempted to take back their approval for our mercs. 3. 2 minutes later, enemy team readied up with their denied merc, threatened to take a def win from us if we didn't ready up, and lying that their merc was in their roster. 4. 3.5 min after point 3, no action has been taken by enemy team - we reinforced that we rejected their merc (their team is still readied up with rejected merc). There was a really long period of arguments back and forth. There was a lot of toxicity towards us as well. We waited for about >15 minutes more (all this time enemy team is still readied up with rejected merc), and decided to contact an admin if we can claim a def win, since we had already waited for more than 15min, maybe 20. 5. Finally after ~26.5min of waiting, admin told us that if they don't comply within 5minutes from NOW (after we waited for almost half an hour), then we can claim the def win. So we told the other team this. 6. About 3 minutes after our warning, they got their main sniper back and removed their rejected merc. 7. We didn't want to play anymore, we didn't even have half our proper roster, many of our players had to leave by this time. So the admins gave the def win to the enemy team. Lessons learnt: - If the other team insists on playing with a merc you've denied, contact an admin IMMEDIATELY. Don't bother arguing with them and actually listening to their threats and accusations about other irrelevant things. - The 15 minute wait rule doesn't apply in disputes like this!! >< Some thoughts/considerations for the future running of this league: - In the event that a dispute happens and an admin is uncontactable / takes awhile to reply, what do we do? Do we wait indefinitely until an admin comes to resolve our dispute? - I don't see this "5 min" compliance rule in the Rules match page anywhere. Perhaps it is something you want to standardise and specify further. - Does this 5 minute rule only apply AFTER we've contacted an admin and they've given us the greenlight to "use" this 5 minute rule? What happens if an admin takes awhile to reply, then the 5 minute rule takes place only after they've replied? - What kind of community would you like to build in this league? We speak a lot about sportsmanship, however that also includes punctuality, respect and fair treatment - one way to demonstrate this is playing the game within the agreed rules, timeframes etc. Thank you for reading and I hope that you can learn something from this. I hope this game can be a good experience for everyone. Also really proud of MA for not being toxic throughout the entire match despite the other team calling us f*gs, noobs, retarded. :D Have a good day!
